When we started to walk and trace the paths around Rapallo to be included in the portofinotrek website, we did not imagine we would find such a vast and interesting hiking network a stone's throw from the city: woods, streams, panoramic points, ancient abandoned villages.

Starting from the main and best known ones, first of all the ancient mule track that climbs to the Montallegro Sanctuary, we went on to explore the territory in more detail, following the traces identified by chance during one of our walks or of which there is evidence on some old map.

These are ancient paths which once connected the different hamlets but which are currently abandoned and forgotten, often impracticable or non-existent due to landslides, brambles or because they are incorporated into private properties.
Fortunately, thanks to the word of mouth of passionate people like us, of volunteers who have done the cleaning work and the trail signs added by the FIE, part of these has been recovered allowing hikers to make different itineraries, within the Municipality of Rapallo also encroaching on neighboring municipalities.

The unexpected number of itineraries created and our absolute belief that Rapallo's trail heritage should be enhanced, convinced us to give greater visibility to the trails in this area, creating Rapallotrek a rib of portofinotrek focused only on Rapallo.

By clicking on the paths listed here on Rapallotrek.com you are redirected to the main site portofinotrek.com where it will still be possible to consult them all.

In the not too distant future, rapallotrek.com, will be able to live a life of its own by reporting all the paths, itineraries and why not, curiosities and advice regarding the city of Rapallo .
